Another Slopoke run

Slopoke went to the track again for the 2nd time. :flame:  The car was run without the supercharger during this trip.  New mods were  Edelbrock intake, 70mm bbk throttle body, Kirban regulator, underdrive pullies, a different distributor, new cap, rotor, wires, and no air filter. Much to my suprise the vehicle ran a little faster. Run #1 the timing, iirc, may have been at 10 deg. and launched from a dead stop. Runs #2 and #3 were not as good during power brake launches. One time the track guy had to make me back up during staging because the car was creeping forward. Before #3's launch, the timing was advanced and it felt like it had more power out of the hole, but when it hit third it was knocking and losing power. #4 last run was a regular launch with the timing back down a bit. The next day the timing was found to be at around 16 deg. There is still much improvement to be made and I'll post a thread with some car and engine picks but none from the track. Btw, the weather was perfect!

Is anyone gonna take over updating this list? I was thinking of copy/pasting the whole list into a new thread and updating it from there, but I have a feeling I wouldnt be responsible enough to keep up on it.

I will take over updating this list...As before send in copies of the time slips and I will adjust the list.

You back out of it on the 13.42 run??? MPH was only 94mph vs 101 on the other time slip... With the 2.01 short time and the mph from the other ticket, it should go a 13.20 easy... With some gears and converter it should run at least a 12.7...

I'm really surprised you didn't run alot quicker then you did.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

thanks guys, this was the first time out to the track and it only had 350 miles on it since i got it running. yeah i let up pretty bad, the fastest mph was actually 104 on another slower slip. i only had first and second, so second was pegged at about 6000-6500 towards the finish and thats about when i would let up. i had a real bad time with traction too. i got a feeling with slicks, 4.11 or 4.55's and all four gears, it should wake up even more  but yeah, im totally excited  :D

For sure... O/D is a strict NO NO when racing...

You want enough rear gear so HP peaks in 3rd just before you hit the finish line...
