whant to rebuild my comp with new stuff need some advice. Reply #15 – October 27, 2005, 08:17:21 AM Quote from: HaystackIf you want the ultimate gaming pc, go for a 64 bit amd. It will out do a p4 even in 32 bit applications. You dont need a butt load of ram, but sometimes it will help out. 512 mb, and 256 mb video card would be fine. I personally have a 64 bit amd with 256 megs ram and a geforce 6600gt with 128, and it will out do virtally any pentium 4 out there.I agree completly, i have the 3.8G AMD Athlon 64 bit, 1G ram with a 256 Geforece 9500(?) and havent had the slightest problem. They are an extremely powerful processor and like someone said Vista is coming. If yo have a monitor HDD and CD-Rom you can get the board, proc, and mem for about 500. Quote Selected

As the others have said a good board with an AMD 64-bit processor at least a gig of ram but 512 will do and a pci-express video card. SATA hard drive for better performance:D Quote Selected
