Like I said, To each his own. Same With BMX. I used to be into that and trails/dirt jumping back in the day till i wrecked my knee (back in the mongoose solution pro, Haro elite and T.A.J./Hoffman days. Moved on to Free ride and DH Mt. Biking from there. Haven't really had time (kids and big boy life) for resorts or parks or city/urban free riding so my bike collects dust but I could never go back to BMX. Still have my Haro frame though. I'm planning on building it up for my older daughter.

i never liked down hill or any of that.. never cared for street either, it was boring to me.. i spent about $15-1800 on my dingo frame about 8 years ago.. to this day, it's still in the EXACT same condition it was when i put it together then.. only thing that has changed are the tires/tubes and brake pads/cable.. i love bmx racing and if you told me i had to choose between my bike and my TC's, kiss the cars goodbye! i've been racing since i was 12 and still love it just as much now.. the only sucky part about it is, the race car business gets in the way of racing weekly, because i have to show face at the track and race the car once in a while

Again, Sounds to me like you never put in an effort or gave it an honest chance. An 1800 dollar hard tail aint gonna cut it in DH. Urban, trail/jumps sure. DH is the natural progression to BMX. It's bigger, faster and tighter. But again, to each his own ;0) I can't really preach much about it though as my all mountain rig is hanging in the basp00get, and I'd rather not comment on the thousands I have into it.

not going to put effort into something i know i won't like lol the first year the xgames did the downhill bmx race at woodward, i HAD to ride that track.. standing there, watching robbie miranda and randy stumphouser(sp?) fly down that monsterous 40ft stepdown, straight into a giant berm in time trials was just flat out insane.. the following spring, when i went to camp, me and a couple of my 'bunk-mates' snuck up there and tried riding it.. being 14-15, we couldn't make it past the 2nd turn without casing something.. i could probably do it now that i'm older and much better, but the track is gone :( my bike is my life and you won't be able to pry it from my cold, dead fingers.. it has kept me out of so much trouble, it's my little miracle
