aod tranny question Reply #24 – September 10, 2010, 10:50:34 PM Would it be possible to install a 4r70w in saaaay... a fox or an earlier mn-12 just by pulling the computer and running the necessary wires and harnesses to the transmission, and from the speed sensor? or speedometer or whatever it gets its information from...?I realize the trans is computer controlled, but seriously, how much could there be to it? It seems like it could be done fairly easily to me. Quote Selected

I was just reading about this swap on a different forum and personally IMHO way too much modification for the gains Quote Selected
aod tranny question Reply #26 – September 11, 2010, 10:45:32 AM Hmmm, well if it can be done, my stubborn ass will definitely want to consider it:D Quote Selected
aod tranny question Reply #27 – September 19, 2010, 05:09:34 AM Just so you know, you can put an AOd in there no problem. I was talking to a SC guy today, who swithced out his 4R70W and put in a AOd. He said there was nothing he had to change to get it tin there. So, this means to me that anything out of a thunderbird or cougar, on or before your year, will go in your car. Whether it be AOdE, or plain ol AOd. Quote Selected
aod tranny question Reply #28 – September 19, 2010, 08:41:53 AM Quote from: sarjxxx;332299depends on the car. There are different levels of torque converters in the myriad v8 cars. However, this is backwards compatible, afaik there's no reason why you can't use a v8 trans in a v6, I just wouldn't go the other way. actually you do want the later v6 aod over the v8 trans, especially for the aod behnd the super charged v6. aod tranny question Reply #29 – September 19, 2010, 11:12:40 AM its not a supercharged v6, and it is an AOD-but i dont have to look no more; i ended up having it rebuilt- its in the shop right now, should get it back tommorow or tuesday Quote Selected
