Quick update guys, the car will be headed out of here within the week. If you have any parts requests let me know. Here is what I have left from the car:
Ford Motorsports M-5300-E Lowering Springs (Front/Rear) Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber plates 3.73 Turbo Coupe Rear End with drum brakes (Trac-Lock Rebuilt) Lincoln LSC H-Pipe Custom Catback with Dynomax lers Interior V-8 wiring harness
I have a car hauler, I'm not opposed to meeting up at a half-way point to make this happen. I'd need to find some temporary wheels to get it on the trailer. :)
How much you looking for?South- east Va. is a big area.
I'm in the Suffolk/Smithfield area of Hampton Roads.
As for price, I'd like to get $750, but I'm open to offers. As I mentioned before, the car will need wheels to load onto a trailer.
Also have 5.0 fuel injection induction parts for sale that if the buyer needs we can work out. Explorer Upper/Lower Intake Manifold $150 Pro-M 75mm Mass Air Meter for 24lb injectors $110 Ford Mass Air Computer (Have two, both A9P & A9L) Mass Air Harness back to Computer BBK 70mm Throttle Body and EGR Spacer $115 Moroso Cold Air Fender Kit w/cone filter $40 Stock Air Box $25 Aeromotive Rail Mount Fuel Pressure Regulator (p#13103) $75 Flowtech 1 5/8 Shorty Headers (Unequal Length) $75
Made the decision to sell the T-bird, time to move on to other projects. Car located in South-east Virginia. History of the car: I purchased the car from the original owner in 1999, up until that point it was garaged. Was originally a V6 car, I performed the 5.0 HO / TC Rear End swap in 2001. Drove the car until around 2008 when I parked it. Recently pulled the motor/trans to part out. Currently the car has everything aside from motor, trans, driveshaft and wheels. The body is fairly straight, no rust or damage. It's been a VA car it's entire life, no real snow down here.
Beside all the stock components, the car has: Ford Motorsports M-5300-E Springs (Front/Rear) Maximum Motorsports Caster/Camber plates 3.73 Turbo Coupe Rear End with drum brakes (Trac-Lock Rebuilt) Turbo Coupe Header Panel Lincoln LSC H-Pipe V-8 wiring harness B&M Hammer Shifter
Exterior: Silver paint is original. All body panels are straight, with minimal dings, no rust. All lights, glass and trim. Does need a new front windshield.
Interior: Original red/maroon interior in good condition. Have original seats.
I'm open to offers on the car. Ultimately, I'd like to see it go to a good home and not the s yard. I do have a clear title on the car.
I can answer any questions, I know the car pretty well by now. :D
Thanks guys,
Ronnie
Pics: Note the rims and engine are not with the car any longer. If you are interested in the car, we will need to arrange wheels to load on trailer.
Chrome302jr, great run how did the nx264 cam run without the juice? Was thinking of that cam for speed density also. Thanks, Mike
The cam runs okay while not on the spray. Its been a few yrs back, but the reason I bought the cam was because of the wide lobe separation angle, I believe its 116. At the time I was running speed density, so I needed the wide LSA to give me vacuum. However, with 24lb injectors, the tune was too rich at idle and too lean at WOT with SD. I switched to a 75mm ProM MAF and the tune was much better. I tried to hold off switching to MAF as long as possible, but in the end lost. :D
If you plan to run the NX264HR cam with 19lb injectors on SD, I believe you will be okay. But dont plan to run 24lb injectors. Depending on what you setup is, 19lb injectors should be fine anyway. I think I could get away with running 19lb injectors, I've thought about switching back.
Sorry guys, Im a bit slow to join in here. I dug up my old slip of 12.11
Heres an old pic from that run...
Mods at the time of the run were:
306ci, Windsor Jr heads, Comp cams NX264 cam, 24lb'ers, Explorer intake, 125 wet shot, AOD lockup converter, 3.73's, Nitto Drag radials, and a not so great tune.
I'll try to keep this as unbiased as possible. Listing things like "I hate driving trucks" and "I hate big engines" doesnt really help in making a good decision here. Its already been established that he likes trucks and likes big engine, etc...
From a financial standpoint, unless you have parents willing to pay for college and all the expenses incurred during college, I dont think dropping $15+ on a vehicle would be too wise at this point. Not sure what your situation is at this point, but if you plan to commute to college you might want to just get a somewhat dependable beater and that way you'll have the extra cash in case you need it when you're not working.
Im not saying keep the Cougar, because you might end up dumping alot of money on it to keep it going. As far as selling the cougar, I wouldnt expect to get much over $1000-$1200 for the car, its just not a desired car these days.
Its one of those pay me now or pay me later things. Lexmark may have low prices on printers, but they screw you on the cartridges. I only buy HP now, the cartridges are around $25 and you get a quality printer. THe Lexmark I had broke after a year of normal use, the paper feed always screwed up.
