It's not ugly, but not my favourite. You have to respect it on sheer numbers, though. It is a pretty insane car. Hard to believe the company that made that now has the Matrix as its most performance oriented vehicle. The Toyobaru can't come soon enough for them.

I'm not a toyota person at all if it isnt a MKIII or MKIV or a Chaser/Cressida then i wouldnt want it.

Oooh, bitter rivalry. You would think she drove a Firebird or something.:rollin:

Personally, I always thought the last 300Z(ed)X looked ten times shagier than the Supra that ended it all (When Toyota killed the Supra, it honestly spelled the end for every interesting Toyota to follow. That last Supra was very much a typical Toyota bubble design.). Now if we're talking Mk III Supra's, they were much more attractive than the 80's Z(ed). I was looking for a MkIII when I stumbled upon the Turbo Coupe.

280z and 240z = puppiesanes shag
I know the MKIV isnt the best looker

Look up how expensive aftermarket parts are for these cars especially when the boost is increased...

A 1jz-who? or a 2jz-what? I must be old, because none of that made any sense to me! LOL

Personally, I am planning a Duratec 2.3 swap, keeping it turbocharged of course. I really rather a modern I6, but Ford doesn't have any DOHC Is engines in the states, only in Australia.

Shiny Side Up!
Bill

They are modern I6 turbo and twin turbo motors from toyota.

Welcome to the site.
My 88TC daily driver will stay 2.3T. I just like the car too much to modify it. As far as being high maintenance and finicky, that's . Granted, I change the oil more frequently, but since when does that qualify as high maintanence? Takes no more trouble to keep in tune and running that a fuel injected 5.0.
That being said, my next project that I'm collecting parts for is an 87TC that will be twin turboed injected 5.0 with a T5. Before anyone starts crying, the TC washiznit pretty hard in the drivers door and left in a field with no window in it for 6 years. Either I turn it into a drag car or it goes to the sper. I prefer to save it.

If you need help with the 5.0 TT build let me know. A buddy of mine named Ramney has a grabber orange 900+ horsepower  5.0tt 91 notch. It is fully street legal and still has most of the modern conviences that aren't usually  seen in such a built car. He is excellent with tuning.

I'd save the LS2 swap for the XJS.

5.0L's will give you big torque for little $$.  Parts are cheap on craigslist and such because people are moving on to the mod motors.

xjeffs what other forums are you on? Your name looks very familiar.
