Well I finally have time to start working on the 83 tbird again. However I have a slight problem. I want to get my 351W bolted up to my engine stand but I lost the bolts to bolt the engine up. Does anyone know the bolt sizes, grade and length you would use to bolt a 351W to an engine stand?
I could understand about the lot of work part.I have any 1983 Ford Thunderbird that i'm putting a 351W in that i'm still working on :D last time it was at a meet was in 2005:P There's a lot of guys that show up that don't even bring a thunderbird/cougar/mark because of work they are doing some haven't brought a car in years. Nice to see more fox owners around. I thought I was the only one in this area for a while.
Sorry about the short notice. I thought I had posted it on all the forums on 2/18/09 and I just browsed this one just now and saw that I didn't posted. We have many meets during the summer months as well. Feel free to come out anytime it would be nice to see more fox T-Birds and cougars out. Anyone is also welcome to signup on the site, I have it setup to send everyone that's signed up emails/newsletters weeks/months before meets take place.
Today the Nebraska Thundercats will be having a meet down in Lincoln, NE. We have these meets every few months in different parts of Nebraska: Omaha, Lincoln, Bellevue and sometimes in Council Bluffs Iowa,
Got a pic of the area where the distributor mounts? If so I can tell if it's a 351 because it will have some *supports* cast into the block that a 302 does not have.
I just noticed something. The old flexplate looks like a 50oz? I counted the teeth its a 164 tooth. Could this engine really be a 302? The guy I bought the truck from said he replaced it and put another 351 in.
I just noticed something that I did and I hope it doesn't cause a problem, I took the flex plate off the engine 2 years ago and I didn't mark how it came off, Does it matter which way you install the new one?
Yes, the Ford Motorsport oil pan M-6675-A58 is correct.
With this pan the old one was a 7 qt and this is a 5qt should that make a difference or would I have to change the oil pump?

as for 351 to c-5. just use a flex plate for your YEAR 351 and AOD tranny. work fine for all the swaps in 351 .i found the flex plate AOD and the c-3/4/5 have the same bolt pattern.
Does it make a difference if I get a 164-tooth or a 157-tooth flexplate? I'm seeing some are 28oz and some are 50oz also. I'm just not sure which one I should use?
Thanks for all the info guys! This forum is awesome.

Update * I went to court in june they said to come back on july 19 I was going to go and I got a call stating the officer was in surgery and couldn't make it. They rescheduled it for Aug 9. I went this morning to court. I told this judge the situation and what had happened, I stated the law Section 60-6,170. The officer couldn't provide video evidence. I stated the officer was almost 3 blocks away then the judge asked the officer if this was true and he said yes he was 3 blocks away and he agreed it was hard to judge if I was on the tracks or not. The judge dismissed the ticket calling it dumb and I only had to pay $44 in court costs. Thanks for your help guys

The gates didn't go down I went through it a cop was sitting about a block away and saw it and pulled me over and wrote me a ticket. Another Question, Do I need a different flywheel? Also will V6 stock springs be able to hold up to this motor? I wanna go as cheap as possible. I just want to get it running for now.
