OK so i had this guy come in to napa today with 92 3.8 bird, And i mentiong something about the Supercoupe now he want to turn his car into a super coupe he already has a full blown race car but he picked this thing up for $250 and wants to turn it into a sleeper for his wife any ideas how hard this will be? Can i just put the S/C on top of the other motor or is a full swap easier. Also any ideas on what kind of output to expect from a rebuild on an SC motor using forged pistons, you know beefing up the inside. I said about 450 with the right stuff and a different blower.
So i went to the toppers car show this weekend and was plesantly surprised to see more fords than chevys. Including, but not limited to, two early 70s mach 1 mustangs, a 66 stang, two first gen t-birds, couple of deuce coupes one with a blown 350 chevy:nono:, and my personal pick for peoples choice a 98 svo mustang supercharged 4.6 over 500 hp and side exit exhaust. There was even a twin eyed cougar there ugly and beat up so next year my cat will replace it at the show.
So i was playing in the snow a couple of months ago and i clipped a snow bank with the rear corner and cracked up my rear bumper cover. Anybody have one or maybe know of one that looks better but doesnt interrupt the flow of the stock lines, oh and absolutly no exhaust notches i have side exit coming.
I found an HID conversion kit online http://www.cqlight.ca/catalog/ for like $200. But im not sure if that setup will cause any damage to my current headlamp lenses the aero ones are getting hard to come by.
I have recently put turbines with 265/50r15 cooper cobras on the cougar and i'm having some rubbing issues. For example going down a freeway exit ramp at 45 or more, or braking hard while cornering. I cant for the life of me figure out where it is rubbing i tried putting a little chalk on the tire but i couldnt see anything. Any ideas where it might be rubbing and if i can fix it without changing tires and/or my rim backspacing.
I want a strong trans because the cougar will someday be pushing 450 at the wheels, thats my goal w/o NOS. But i am not building a trailer queen or a show car i will be driving it a LOT and i dont want to lose my highway cruisability. Can I build a C4 to meet those needs or would i have to put an aftermarket overdrive on behind it. Another quick one and six speed autos that can fit a 5.0 and handle that much output.
So i drove home for christmas to Minot about 300 miles from fargo cruise set at 85 the whole way there after about 200 miles on the return trip though the cruise just quit, at first i thought i hit the button or the brake by accident but no my cruise control just quit working. Havent checked the fuse yet too cold outside any other ideas guys?
I was looking through one of my catalogs here at NAPA and came across a chrome 140 amp alternator not too expensive about $220, i think, from powermaster. Any other upgrade i would have to so to put this thing in i have a lot of lights on and in the car as well as a better stereo soon to have a sub and amp so i want it all to work reliably and i dont want to break anything in the process.
Anybody got airbags on their fox. How could i do it my tires already rub at the stock ride height if i lower the thing it will get worse so i know i need to have a set of wheels fitted with the correct backspacing but i think that slammin the cat down at shows and cruises then flipping a switch and driving it everyday is the way to go. Shes not gonna see the track a lot but will once in a while (look for some time slips later this summer probibly in the 16-17 second range lol) and ideas guys?
About 3 weeks ago someone smashed out both my drivers side windows and jacked my head unit and all my CD's, well over a grand worth, i wanted a new head unit neway. I am going to get an alarm and dtart taking my face off but is there anything else u guys can think of to help out my security issues. I live in Fargo freaking North Dakota, that doesnt happen up here. Oh BTW has anyone called around looking for a new quarter window for an 87-88 cougar lately, $500+ i ped myself when i heard that.
Does anyone have that five tit vacspooge connector for the 86 and up 5.0 cars. It sits on the firewall above the brake booster and mine broke no biggie but no power brakes either havnt looked where the rest go ohwell if anybodys got one they dont need nemore let me know the dealership wants $20 and i can have it tomorrow, but i dont get paid for like a week and a half.
I've been talking with a few of my friends and they keep telling me about a manual valve body for the c6 or c4 that would be perfect for me as i dont appear to have room in my footwell for a clutch pedal for the t5 swap (my feet dont fit comfortably) but i still want to row thru the gears on my own. Anybody done this?
i missed u guys. What is the major malfunction with LED can i not just replace my old incandescent bulbs with LEDs. If not what do i have to do to use these f#@*ing things.
I am looking for the HO conversion parts cam, heads, upper intake, throttle body, and injectors. anyone got these parts lying around im gonna rebuild my motor this summer hopefully and want some mo POWER:D
