Engine Tech / Here we GO
Ok guys i just finished the head swap and am eyeing the future mods.  Heres my idea so far.  Ford racing E cam,  GT40 intake,  24 lb injectors along with a mass air conversion, computer to make it work abviously, larger fuel pump probibly 190lph, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, cold air kit from BBK, and a 100 shot of giggle gas maybe.  I need to get a rebuilt AOD and a TC rear first but after tax time i might have enough extra cash to swing this.

Engine Tech / Timing cover fit
I want to know if all the small block timing covers are the same or not.  I have a bid in on one on Ebay for $10 but its for a late 60's cougar.  I know about the dipstick and fuel pump thing I just wanna know what all will fit.

User Rides / Head Swap Progress
I have pics and will post up later but for now its just a really bad story.
Day 1.  Teardown of everything nescessary,  got the heads off in a few hours and got it ready for the new ones.(Problem 1 only a broken bolt in the old head but it still pissed me off)
Day 2.  Installed and torqued heads to recommended specs.  Finished assembly of the valvetrain  (Problem 2 Could not get motor mounts loose when I finally got them out could not get the brackets off :mad: drivers side mount was broken good thing I decided to change them day 2 shot)
Day 3.  Installed intake manifold torqued to recommended specs, (Problem 3 was missing a hose clamp for the thermostat to pipe hose) went to reinstall distributor and could not.  Looked into hole spotted missing hose clamp.  Slap self on wrist for not plugging the hole and grab magnet, magnet no workey.  Clamp moves farther into engine, :mad: grab needle nose pliers hose clamp dissappears. :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:  In preparation to remove oil pan decide to try timing cover first, (Problem 4 broken water pump bolt in timing cover) this did turn out ok, as I removed the timing cover hose clamp fell out (:bowdown:) and I check play in timing chain while i'm looking at it, cam gear had a fuel pump eccentric on it BTW.:wtf:  (Problem 5 excessive play in timing chain) replaced with slightly used timing set from friends 93 Mustang GT.
I'll update as it goes final assembly should go quickly tomorrow if i can get the water pump mounting bolts

Engine Tech / Injectors
So I'm swapping over my heads and drop one of my injectore and break the plastic cap on the end :mad:  I want to get some 19# injectors can I use them with my factory ECU and sensors?

Engine Tech / Motor mounts
I have the mustang headers on my cat and the passenger side is rubbing on the frame a little.  If I change my motor mounts will that fix this problem?

Engine Tech / EZTE swap.
I have my ported E7's ready to go and need to change my head gaskets anyway so I was planning on swapping them on.  I'm nowhere near ready to do the whole HO conversion yet.  Any problems that might arise?

Drivetrain Tech / Shift kit?
I'm going to be reworking my linkage on my trans again and was thinking about putting in a B&M shift kit just for kicks.  My car has about 110,000 miles on it and had the filter changed for the first time about 15,000 miles ago would it be a bad idea to put in a shift kit?  I'd really hate to grenade it because its old.

Suspension/Steering / Fox Stang Rotors?
I just sold some seals for a 93 GT and was curious because the number didnt match the seals I just bought.  So I pulled both sets off the shelf and lo and behold the stang rotors are bigger by and inch I was clueless.  I'm having a problem with the brakes warping on my car and was hoping for a cheap upgrade.  What would I have to do to put stang brakes on my Cat.  Oh and does anyone know where I can get braided lines?  Maybe an upgrade for the master cylinder too.

Suspension/Steering / Spring rate Q's
My buddy just got lowering springs for his 93 mustang GT.  Will his old ones lower my car?  Or affect my ride/handling?

Drivetrain Tech / Headers and column shift = :(
I recently installed the factory HO headers on my cat along with an aftermarket offroad H-pipe, sounds great btw, but one major problem reared its ugly ugly head.  The column shift linkage doesn't clear the headers at all.  I was luckily able to finangle it enough :hick:  to be able to drive it temporarily but a floor shifter is essential for this install or some modification of the likage rod coming down from the column.  Also the HO headers have a different bolt spacing then the non HO manifolds so an aftermarket H-pipe will not bolt up to the factory manifolds:punchballs:.  So now i'm buying an aftermarket floor shifter swith a cable so I don't have to take out the valve body:shakeass:.  Has anyone put one in their car?

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars WANTED / Blue Max Emblem
Ok so this is mostly for eric b/c i know he has two but one of my Blue Max Edition emblems that sit behind the quarter window fell off does anyone have or know of a blue Max I can get one off of?  Or could I put the regular emblems off of like an XR7 on?

Lounge / Aww yeah
I got a new interior today.  So it took me all day yesterday and today but I got the sn95 seats in the XR7 cluster repinned and installed and the console in.  I'm stoked everything works and big props to Eric thanks for the wiring info it sll worked out well.  Now for the headaches, the cluster harnesses were all cracked and I had to use super glue to reenforce them which still didnt work but I was gentle and it all works.  The dash trim is really faded but I will repaint later to get it to look great.  Somehow I lost the power for my CD player and had to find another and rewire it.  But those seats are fantastic they put me closer to the wheel than the old ones did, but maybe I just got so used to driving with a broken seat that now that its normal it feels wierd.:D  I'll get pics as soon as the USB gets fixed and I can plug in the camera.  Where the rail bolts down to the seat the steel bracket on the seat let go and It looked like it got hit by a cannon all twisted metal and whatnot.

Electrical Tech / buttstuffog cluster install
Ok so i got my buttstuffog cluster and console and shifter and seats and am ready to redo my interior One problem when I took out the buttstuffog cluster from the XR7 it had one connector my base cluster has two.  I'm pretty sure I saw a tech article on coolcats about it but I can't find it now.  Can somebody help me out diagrams tips any help would be much appreciated.  Oh and How many people here have done overlays on the guages I want something blue indiglo again any help would be sweet I will definatly be taking pics for y'all It should turn out great.

T-Bird/Cougar Parts & Cars FOR SALE / T-bird parts
I spotted a couple of nice t-birds in the s yard yesterday one had the full digital cluster and seats that looked new with the consolette along with a full interior another that was missing the console but thats it and a TC with a little rot inside because it has no driver's side window.  Oh and a mark VII with a complete engine lemme know if anyone wants anything the digi dash is $120 bucks.
