You miss the point. GT40s have external features that make them identifiable. E7 vs E6? Almost impossible.
The three bars on the front of the heads are Coverd by the accessories and if you realy want stelth you could grind the "GT" off of the corner of the head. The plugs are in the same position on GT40 heads.
Man...LUCKY! Lol. I've always wanted a silver 86 V8 TBird, with red interior, for a sleeper car build. HO conversion with Ported E7s, Tmoss ported lower, roller rockers, extrude honed exhaust manifolds, true dual exhaust, and a hidden under manifold nitrous kit. Stock interior. Widened stock steelies for the rear. That would be a fun ride.
It would cost more in machine work for the E7's then it would just to pick up a set of GT40's off of a 97 explorer.
Only if it dosent have ABS. The 89-93 mn12's got a 8.8 track loc IRS if it was equiped with ABS. The 94-97 that had traction control came with a 8.8 open IRS rear. The IRS cariers will work in a solid axle but a carier from a solid axle will not work in a IRS.
Hey everyone just looking for some input. I got my 81 tbird with the 302. Right now i have bbk shorties on the gt40p's but want to get some longtubes. Will the summit brand longtubes work?
Do not buy the summit longtubes. save up and buy some MAC 1" 5/8ths long tubes.
I had a set of the summit headers and they even smelled cheep.
I'm looking for a 2500-3000 lockup converter far a AOD. I have a 3000 stall non-lockup converter to trade.
The only reson for this offer is I just bought a 3200 10" converter for my track car and I figured I would put the 3000 stall in my DD car. But I would rather retain lockup for a car I'll be driving 98 miles a day.
If nothing in about 3 weeks Ill just put the 3000 in.
