Header panel repair

Is it economically feasible to fix a broken 88TC header panel? As in it has about a foot long crack in it. I bought one and the oafs at Fedex  near broke it in half. Can you just 'glass' it or does it require some special procedure?

I just glassed mine and then spray painted it.  Costed me 7 bucks to fix compared to a new 100 dollar header panel.
