97 Exploder intake etc August 11, 2006, 08:43:35 AM I have a chance to buy the upper and lower intake, throttle body, injectors etc from a 97 5.0 Explorer, is there anything i should know that should stop me from purchacing this set up. I just picked up an A9P computer,harness,MAF sensor,intake tubes etc and want to ensure these items will work together with no problems. I have an 87 5.0 bird that i am doing a HO conversion on on. 97 Exploder intake etc Reply #1 – August 12, 2006, 08:15:41 AM 97 5.0 Explorer intake should be a direct bolt on I’m soon to do mine. The only modification that has to be done is drill a hole in the front for a temp sensor or something (I forget exactly and to lazy right now to go out side and look). But if you compare the two you should see what I’m talking about. Quote Selected
97 Exploder intake etc Reply #2 – August 20, 2006, 04:43:42 AM Just drill a hole in the intake for the ACT Senesor on the drivers side, or I was too lazt to drill and tap after puttting it on the motor so I moved it to the air box on the fender, thought cool air would make it run better. everything else is the same with exception of 2 drilled plate screw holes vs 4. The explorer intake is also a 70mm Throttle body from the factory, Happy Burnouts. Quote Selected
