Very Low Mileage 83 Cougar FS $700 - Dayton July 29, 2006, 09:00:34 AM 1983 Mercury Cougar$700This car is heavily optioned and has many surprising features for an 83. I bought it off the original owner in the Spring of 2002 with 27k miles on it. It would make a great around town car or good for a full showroom restoration. In 17 months, this car will official be qualified for historical status in Ohio. * 71k Original Miles * Sunroof * Digital Dash * Digital AM/FM Radio w/ Cassette * Automatic Headlights w/ Delay (turns on when it is dark and off when the car turns off) * Power Locks * Power Windows * Power Mirrors * A/C * Cruise Control * Tilt Steering Wheel w/ Controls * 4 Speed Automatic w/ OD * Fuel Injected 5.0 Liter V8 * Original Paint is in Good Condition * Very Little Rust * Interior is in Excellent ConditionRecently Replaced/Repaired Items (6-9 months) * Front Brake Pads * Spark Plugs * Spark Plug Wires * Distributor * Distributor Rotor * PCV Valve * Passenger Side Valve Cover Gasket * Rear Tires (used) * Rear BrakesI have receipts of all the above items. There should be some that have warranties. If desired I will also include the original distributor cap, rotor, and ignition wires. The wires are numbered and marked "Ford 1983".There have been some other recent things done to the car that I would have to look up to check. The car starts rough and if it happens to stall durring the first few mins, it is very hard to start back up or keep running. HOWEVER....if you can get the car to drive it runs just fine after the first mile or two. It's a very weird problem and it's been taken to two different auto shops without them being able to fix the problem yet. It's almost like it's getting too much fuel. The car is currently at Bob's Auto on Dayton-Xenia in Beavercreek, OH. Come get the car. You might be able to drive it off the lot if you are lucky, but chances right now are that you won't be able to. This would be great for someone who knows how to troubleshoot this problem or for someone to throw a newer mustang engine in it and use as a sleeper. The car itself is in very good shape.Since I only have internet access 1 time a day now, it's better to call 937-718-6149.$700 Quote Selected

Very Low Mileage 83 Cougar FS $700 - Dayton Reply #13 – July 30, 2006, 12:35:03 AM pretty far ride for me, and for the cougar if i were to get it. 210 miles. I dont know if I could risk a ride all the way out there and not know whether it would start, whether it was worth it (for $700 im sure it is), and whether or not it would make the trip home. Very Low Mileage 83 Cougar FS $700 - Dayton Reply #14 – July 30, 2006, 10:05:54 AM I found some pics I took in November. These are some detailed shots of specific areas and the areas that had rust. There are small and large versions of each pic. All of the rust on the car is surface rust and none of it has gone through the metal.Specific PicsFor clarification, if you come to take a look at the car it will start, however the chances are slim that it will drive. Yesterday I was able to drive it around the parking lot 1 time before it stalled and died. If by chance I would have been able to keep it driving for another 2-5 mins, it wouldn't have had a problem driving as far/long as I wanted (I would keep the car running at the gas station). However, I wouldn't come expecting to drive it away. Quote Selected
