351 swap in a 88 cougar

im thinking about swaping a 351 carb in to my 88 cat but im worried about gauges i have all elec. gauges what kind of problems and options do i have with this and what other problems will there be with a 351 swap

You shouldn't have any problems as long as you're going EFI...plug and play...make sure you buy 351 swap headers...possible hood clearance issue depending on your intake.

well i was gonna just go carb but will the computer be able to run a 351 i would think it would dog and be slow and do i just use the stock efi thats on the car

You will have to swap over to Mass Air, if not already. Then you will have to have chip burned to let the computer know the displacment change.
  The price of the 351 swap headers is alot. All I did was use stang unequal lenght shorty headers. I had to buy a steering shaft kit from Flaming rivers to get it off of the header to pipe ball .
  Just a little insight from someone who has don it.
