My stupid Seat control is playing with my nerve!

Since you already read the title, I have this problem...

If it try to move foward, it does click but nothing moves (or it move an half and inch max than stop), I try to go backward, it goes backward and the so the back part go down like i was gonna sleep...

After Testing every motor, testing every wires, Voltage, Switch, etc everything look fine....

I removed the module under the driver seat, reweld almost every part, wire, connector using Flux replug everything and Wow! It worked!  :ies:  :ies:

After smoking some good stuff being proud of myself i called the girlfriend to show her. its been 6 month she cant drive the cat because of that seat sh*t! (Im 6'3 and she is 5'2)  :shoothead

Guess what? She showed up and nothing work correctly again...  :giggle:
Somtimes it can go foward/backward only then suddenly it will only go Up/Down, none at all or as describe above.
I'm earing the relay inside doing "Click-a-click" when i try to set my position...

The passenger seat work perfectly....  :dunno:  :dunno:

Anyone experienced that  before?
I suspect the module to be defective but why's the passenger is ok?  :screwy:

the reason your passanger seat is fine is because its used less
It's Gumby's fault.

Mine malfunctioned like that for a while - then one day it went nuts & the seat just wouldn't stop going forward. It broke the custom mini-console I had made after I converted to a 5-speed. That really, really pissed me off. I never figured out why that one broke (usually has something to do with wires being shorted due to seat mechanism cutting through them and shorting them - then the driver relay ends up malfunctioning (melted). Stupid, stupid wiring arrangement - some folks have had fires and smokey electrical melting insulation - not sure if this was a recal item or not. I happened to have another module I got from a junk car and it only had one wire that had corroded and pulled out from the circuit board. I resoldered it and installed it in my car - PRESTO! - has worked fine ever since. I rarely adjust the seat any-more due to this terrible design flaw.

Im one of those.... My ass almost went in fire....  The heating seat harness was poked by the seats springs until i saw smoke....

About the module, I sprayed some contact cleaner on the Open relay (6x) inside the module... and it worked correctly until it dry...

I guess ill have to buy a new py Ford superb module....

It act like the Relay activate but the circuit dont stay closed because the seat motor activate and due to lack of power, it shut itself off because it think the Seat is at its max moving range....  :dunno:
