The Story of my "New" Bird... April 28, 2006, 08:22:40 PM As you recall, I bought my 1982 T-Bird from the old lady who was the original owner. It had been sitting in her carport in Lexington,NC alone and un-driven since January. Her Son told her to buy a new Buick, so for what ever reason, she did (she is 83 years old). The new Buick which was parked next to the T-Bird had what I detected, a smirk on it's grill. Anyway, To make a long story short, I loved both "Nana" and the T-Bird. I think what actually sold me was when I asked her if I shoud pump the gas before I started it, her reply was "well I always mash down on the clutch". To which her son said "Mama, it don't have no clutch." The deal done (nana was more interested in showing me her quilts than the cashiers check), We drove home. About 85 miles to Charlotte, NC. The T-Bird drove like a scalded rabbit. However, now that's she's home the work begins. She need a MAJOR tune-up, her A/C does not work and her brakes are gone. But as they say she is a "diamond in the rough". Quote Selected
