advantages of different trannies? Reply #4 – April 18, 2006, 11:04:28 PM I wouldnt do it, you will be adding a ton of weight. If its just a driver stick to an AOD or T5, if its a race car go to a C4. Quote Selected
advantages of different trannies? Reply #5 – April 19, 2006, 12:16:50 PM the T5's from the TC's have a pretty low first gear, but I hear they are decent behind a 5.0, I know alot of Inline6 guys use the 4 cyl t5's. Quote Selected
advantages of different trannies? Reply #6 – April 19, 2006, 04:07:03 PM I would assume 1st to suck. Might as well have 2.73's if you stay with that tranny. Quote Selected
advantages of different trannies? Reply #7 – April 19, 2006, 04:12:38 PM The 4-banger trannys were also built to handle less power. This was from this thread. Hope that helps. Quote Selected
advantages of different trannies? Reply #8 – April 19, 2006, 10:59:13 PM C-6 tranny has the big block bellhousing. Small block C-6's are rare and most came on engines back in the 60's. T-5, the 5.0L version is rated at 300 LBS of torque, the 4 cylinder ones are much less, but if used with that in mind, I believe they bolt up. Good luck, Fred Quote Selected
