A Rookie cop ruined my life! Reply #16 – March 26, 2006, 05:34:21 AM Lol, I used to try to get pulled over in my town, just to start shiznit with a cop. I wouldn't put a front plate on my car like it was my job, get pulled over by the same prick every time. I had a rubber band noose with a pig lighter hanging from my rear view mirror and I would play "**** the police" by nwa every time(I WAS stupid, young and had money to kill). It was until I got three tickets in a row that I would lose my license that I put the plate on, but not after hitting it with a hammer on gravel, putting one screw on, and upside down. I hate cops that **** with people in town when there are meth labs all over the place. **** stoopid cops. Quote Selected
A Rookie cop ruined my life! Reply #17 – March 26, 2006, 09:43:54 AM Wow, what an ass. I haven't had problems around here with the cops. I've been eyed up and followed but not pulled over. The town I live in isn't even a mile long and we have 3 cops. They go ticket crazy. They'll pull you over if you are doing 28 in the 25mph zone. Its rediculous. I think speeding and running the red light are the only things they get you on though. Quote Selected
A Rookie cop ruined my life! Reply #18 – March 26, 2006, 02:32:04 PM So after that eventful evening, 2 of my friends got followed, one got a warning for speeding, the other got his tag number ran. This cop just wanted to mess with me, so I fixed everything except for picking up my personalized plate because my tag expires at the end of this month. What a dick Quote Selected
A Rookie cop ruined my life! Reply #19 – March 26, 2006, 02:32:53 PM One last thing to add, cops around here wait until the end of the month before they have to have quota turned in, so they go crazy to get caught up. Quote Selected
A Rookie cop ruined my life! Reply #20 – March 26, 2006, 02:57:13 PM Thanks for the love, fellas..... Did you ever happen to think politeness counts when it comes to being stopped? Oh and by the way there is no such thing as a quota......they'll let me write a sh$%load if I wanted to:raspberry Quote Selected
A Rookie cop ruined my life! Reply #21 – March 26, 2006, 03:21:31 PM Respect them and they'll respect you, its pretty easy. If your driving beside one turn your music down, dont speed (more than they are) It may not always work 'cause some guys are just assholes.I've only ever been pulled over once and it was at a roadblock because my car was "unsafe" he (a young guy) was just going to give me a warning and let me go, then the old guy wandered over and found shiznit to nit pick about and I ended up with 3 $110 tickets  Going to court for two of them eventually, probabally be another 6-8 months (this happened last summer) Quote Selected
A Rookie cop ruined my life! Reply #22 – March 26, 2006, 03:49:38 PM I only was a little miffed at a cop once. I had to borrow my dad's truck to drive to school since the cougar was out of commission. It was only for one day but lucky for me I was rear-ended on my way there. Officer arrived and after getting everything straightened out told me he would have to give me a ticket. When I asked what for, he said that the emissions test was not completed on my dad's truck and that it is punishable to be driving a motor vehicle that is not emissions compliant. I explained to him that it wasn't my vehicle and I didn't know about it since I only needed to borrow it for one day. I got the usual, you know, go to court and fight it but he said he would talk to the judge to let him know it was my first offense and that the vehicle wasn't mine and so on. So I went to court and after getting lectured from the judge that I should know everything about a vehicle before borrowing it, I was given probation before judgement and paid the typical court costs and whatnot. Now the officer was doing his job, I wasn't mad at that. He was very kind to work with and I was very cooperative with him. But what frustrated me was that he actually showed up for court. I was the only person he had to be there for. Meanwhile someone who was there for doing 70 in a 45mph zone and who I might add brought an attorney with them got let off because the officer didn't bother to show up. 7 people got off for various offences much worse than mine because they all were ticketed by the same cop who didn't show up. I was one of nearly 50 people in the court room and almost half of them were let off because the officers didn't show up. I just didn't think that was fair. Quote Selected
A Rookie cop ruined my life! Reply #23 – March 26, 2006, 03:53:10 PM What I dont think is fair, is I have never been pulled over, I obey the law most of the time. When this guy pulled me over he could have said, "please clean your windows, and please turn down your stereo." But no he gave me a ticket for something I didnt do to my car, and had no time to clean it up until then. Quote Selected

I just didn't think that was fair.I would think that situation like that would be considerd contempt of court, on the officer who wrote the tickets, then didn't appear himself...I know around here, if you get a traffic ticket, and the cop who wrote doesn't appear (which almost never happens here, btw) the judge usually dismisses the case, with no fines to be paid, i think. But I too, once used to harass the cops, follow them around, stupid stuff, and believe me, I paid dearly for it...See a cop on duty, just leave his ass alone, lol Quote Selected

If the officer is stuck on patrol on a call that he can not leave then the court will usually re-schedule the hearing. A second time is usually a dismissal of the case. Quote Selected

When this guy pulled me over he could have said, "please clean your windows, and please turn down your stereo." hmmm i don't think anyone is right in this situation, but to take the cops side..... he could have stopped you for that anyway, said please clean the windows, they are considered an obstruction, and then let you on your way, but the playing of "bad boys" probably caused him to think you were the jerk, ESPECIALLY since you had your friends in there and were "showing off".... if he had just said stop it, he probably figured you'd high five your friends because you got away with it.... but that's taking his side...... either way, my favorite part of your quote is "i obey the law MOST of the time"... that seems to be the quote of the generation.... kind of like "if you aren't caught, you're not cheating"...... but i digress, sorry you had a bad night, i bet you won't play with "the man" again.... And this is a shock? Come on, what are you leaving out? Quote Selected
