My Ideal Exhaust

Ok, so here's what I have come up with for the exhaust system I would eventually like to install.

1. It would start at the block with a nice set of JBA or Mac long tube headers.  I've read that both comapies make a set that will work on our cars.

2. It'll then move down to the appropriate off-raod H-pipe.

3. The H-pipe will dump into a set of Flowtech Warlock lers.

4. From one exit of the ler an electric cutout will be installed with a short turn down pipe.

5. The other exit from the ler will travel to the back of the car ending off in a nice set of chrome tips.

I'd like to run the cutouts because I know that a lot of systems drone on the higway and are very noisy.  I do a lot of highway driving so I'd like to be able to do it in peace.  I know that long tubes are only reccomended for applications where the car is putting out more than 300hp, and my plan is to put the exhaust in when I swap in a new engine.  So now I ask you guys to point out everything that is wrong with this system.  I know there will be extra steel piping needed and all the fabrication and installation parts, so no need to point out the obvious.  I'm also aware of the fact that it's going to be expensive.  Thanks Guys
Paul

Wow thats what is going on my car real soon.

Mac long tubes, With a cut off road H, to warlocks that both dump under the car.

I havn't ordered the cut out. Kinda hard to same $300 with a family.

When you order the H pipe make sure you know what type of  the long tubes have 3 bolt or ball and socket.

Don't forget the ler bearings!

I take it you've priced electric cutouts. I couldn't justify spending that much on something that trivial, really...

I was gonna put a "buttstuffog" cutout on my downpipe over the summer, but I got too lazy (and I couldn't get the pipes apart without cutting them) so I just sold it.

Which is why I want the cutouts.  With the flick of a switch I'll not have to worry about making my engine try to breathe through a straw.  But normally I'll be able to have a nice normal stock (maybe louder) sounding exhaust.

Actually those electric cutouts would be well worth it, IMO. Trying to put those caps on before you park the car for the day, so you don't wake up the neighborhood in the morning, got to be annoying. Especially since my car was lowered. And if the cops are near, it is HARD lay off the throttle to keep the noise down, much less pull over and put them back on.

Hey slamedcat, good to hear you're enjoying the exhaust. Will you be at CatJam this year? I wouldn't mind hearing that exhaust again. :D

Well with the work schedule and the family. I probably won't make Catjam. But when I get all the stuff on the car I will get some sound clips of the car.

I hope that will bring a smile to your face.

Does anyone know where I can find some decent electric cutouts? All I can find are the ones with the manual cables on them and those are only 2 inch outlets, I have a 2 1/2 inch pipe.
