new pics, new pics, new pics....

-ok , bought the wife a new camera as she has me committed(really) to taking her and the kids to disney world in two weeks.  so i thought id get use to it by taking a few and trying to post them so everyone could see i do own a (few) bird(s). anyway, lets try it....

this is my current project "the money pit"  car belonged to a legal secretary in a nearby town.  drove it till 2000, lost power and made noise so instead of fixing it, she traded for a lexus.  it got shuffled wholesale to a used dealer who liked it but it cost to much to fix, so it ended up on his back lot, where i spyed it a got it for a paltry $500. has red leather, with sunroof, but an auto.  but the dang thing is so solid.  no rust, no dents, never wrecked. i couldnt bear to let it just waste away.  had it sitting out back since i got it in 2001, figured i needed to do something with it, so....got some very good friends nearby, their daughter goes to school with my son.  so having so many vehicles in mine and other peoples yard (14 so far) in order to please my wife of moving some and because i was feeling good after church one sunday, i stated i would get the bird on the road again and give it to our friends daughter.  that seemed to be agreeable to my wife for my working and spending on it. so here we are.  the list includes so far:  new (reman) turbo for that no power noise thing, che rear control arms, new late model mustang cobra control arms, ranger roller cam(from 2.3 dual plug i had out back), drilled and slotted rotors all around, silver pony wheels with smoothed center caps, forced4 water lines, poly swaybar, rack, and spring bushings, atr obsolete 3" down pipe, dual 2.5" out the back.  and oh yeah, a gillis valve.  thats all i've rounded up for the moment to work on.  if you can tell from the picture i just got the control arms off the front. i just started on it in oct. of last year and had to stop in dec for the cold and functions, then rain and cold in jan/feb, so just started back. got the cam in last sat.  its hard, but it will be worth it all when its done and that girl sees it for the first time.

heres a couple of other ones i have.  this is a '83 that blew the motor and it was removed to fix and the guy thought it was to much to put in it, so he got $200 on trade and bought a new one.  it sat at the dealership for almost a year before they decided to get rid of all abandoned cars.  i put dibbs on it and took it home less engine...

this was a friends, wifes daily driver till 2001 when she rearended a f350.  he said if i wanted it i could pay the wrecker bill and take it.  $100 dollars later its home.  put a new coresupport and innner apr0n on it, just waiting till time. oh, its a '87 lx 5.0 aod dual exhaust......

i'll post more as i get them.  at least you can tell i do have too many projects for real!!!!

Once you get that TC all fixed up are you going to want to give it away?  I wouldn't.

yes the '83 is sweet.  the interior is perfect, and it really is!  the only bad spot is there is a dent in the left rear quarter and the typical rust at the right bottom corner of the rear window.  other than that she's complete....well except the engine.
