Possible power steering pump problem?

Hey guys,

I noticed yesterday that my car is making a new noise. I think its the power steering pump, but I haven't had a chance to locate it for sure. I figured I'd throw it out there to you guys cause maybe one of you have had a similar experience.

Whenever I'm turning (I notice it seems more prevalent when making left turns) I get a weird sound coming from under the hood. Its definitely something rotating because its a steady chirping or metallic sound like a bearing or something. Once I straighten the wheel up again it soon clears up, but sometimes continues for a brief time period. While sitting still and turning the wheel I haven't been able to make it do it though... I'm gonna rip into it soon but I figured I'd throw it out there incase anybody has some insight.

Thanks a million!

I noticed the fluid was a tad low. Just barely not touching the stick when hot. Topped it off and its still doing it this morning...

Yeah I'm going to guess your ps pump is on its way out. Time to upgrade to a 15:1 rack and pump :D

Oh yeah check to see if your rack is leaking as well. Don't want to change the pump and find out your rack was the problem.
