hey,

I just finished up a 87 XR-7 with the 5.0 HO swap and mass air. I put on Flowtech unequal lengths and a bbk h-pipe with no problems other than a little massaging on the drives side pipe for the floor shifter linkage. Other than that no problem.

yes, They were 1 5/8. I also did the equal length shorty headers and h-pipe on my friends 1980 cougar 302. It had the column shift and the only problem I ran into was that the column shift linkage point to the tranny ( the pivot point) had to be ground down some to get it to clear the h-pipe. It worked but it still rubbed a little. I could have dimpled the pipe I guess to have a little more room, but didn't think of it at the time. You'll monkey with it I'm sure but it should work.;)
