PA performance definitely has the easiest install kit.  Comes with everything you need and it's a new and not remanufactured alternator.  Not quite the cheapest, though.

ok, well pa performance offers a power wire in 2 catagories, long and short? any suggestions? the long one is like 60+$$ and the short is about half that, then theirs the non premium wires... wtf?

Lotta people will say you don't need the wires from them as you could probably get them cheaper from the bulk roll at the auto parts store.  That's up to you, though.

There was a guy who was on the old Fox board.. dunno if he came over or not.  Not sure of who it was.  Maybe T5Bird?  Someone bought the kit, I know.

You don't need a kit.  The wiring is fairly simple.  I used  4 gauge wire to run to the alternator, and I installed an inline 150 amp marine megafuse.
Cut and tape back the original wires that go to the alternator, as they are not thick enough to handle the extra juice.  The articles I have linked here show these wires being reconnected, but I would not trust sending that much amperage through them.  Just tape them up and leave them disconnected.  The original white wire that was in that connector connects in to a single port in back of the 3G.  If you get one from the boneyard, try to get this connector to splice in.  The remaining harness plugs right up to the 3g.
