Horn/cruise slip rings

Anybody know if you can get the slip rings and brushes for the horn and cruise control systems new anymore? I was moving my T-Bird around in the driveway the other day and the slip rings, which were always noisey, seem to have come apart. They were noisier than usual, then crunchy, then a snapping sound, and then the horn started going off by itself (I had to pull the fuse - good thing I'm not driving it for the winter, as the fuel door release seems to be on the same fuse). I haven't pulled the wheel yet, but can you still buy these parts? Are other parts (such as Mustang) interchangeable?

When my car had this problem a year or two ago, I was told I had to buy a whole new wheel...for quite alot of $$.  I headed to a junk yard and found one is great condition and reinforced it with some hot glue.  The nice thing is that it doesn't matter if the donor has cruise or not, all the brass ring assemblies are the same.  As far as the Mustang wheel goes, I'm not sure if the brass rings are the same, but you would probably be forced to buy the whole wheel in that case as well.  I know the Mustang wheels can interchange with Cougar wheels though, I've seen it done.

I had to disconnect my cruise control, the cc computer kept shorting my brake lights out. then the horn pad thingie came off, and some tar  started oozing out of the wheel every time it got hot.

so now hopefully I'll get this

:D it'll go perfect with my interior (black with aluminum stuff everywhere)
