exhaust question

im probably gonna get flamed, but.............

has anybody used "import" style lers on their v8 thunderbirds or cougars? do they sound like poop?

awhile back i remember seeing a 99-04 mustang GT with those "fart cannons" mounted where the tailpipes would go. i didnt think it looked that bad. :flip:

im just looking for something different, and i know a lot of companies offer straight-through design lers for imports with a 2.5" inlet.

please forgive me for asking these questions, kthanxbye!

you were right your gonna get flamed !!

don't buy one of those...go get a #5 tin can and use some  craoyla engine paint...paint it the color of your choice, weld it up there, and walla, you've got your own import ler...

or you could put some thing on there that sounded decient, and not like all the other tin can hondas..

like (cough cough ) FLOWMASTER,  belive it or not...ebay's cheap on flowmasters

Actually there isn't enough room between the body and gas tank to mount a ler back there.;)  Would have to be "small" diameter.

Got a mustang around here that has 2 on it.  And yes it does sound like Krap:barf:.  Not to metion he's the laughing stock of the V8 world.  If your going to do it, be prepared to get harrassed on and off the street.  Ditch the Idea:toilet: Get some flowmaster 40's and ORH or X and be done with it. :drink:

If your set on a straight-through design you could either do glass packs (a little raspy) or bullet-style lers with baffles.  I have the latter on my vehicle now and I am quite happy with them.

Agreed!

I have cherry bombs glasspacks on my t-bird and it sounds good.  Really quite inside, but sounds like a nascar out the tail pipes.:tg: :hick:

dynomax and magnaflow make straite through styles for our cars to. with a v8 tho i'd rather have baffles, my girlfriends turbo coupe will have strait through so the turbo can spool that much faster, but the v8 will loose torque. when i run open h-pipe and LT's at the track i can tell a major loss in low end.
