right and wrong way to install a turbo?

bought a turbo from ebay and this is what was in the listing....

Installation guide for your new turbocharger

Attention: When you purchase a turbocharger you only own half of what you bought, the rest is all in the installation.  The whole procedure is very simple.  If you install the turbo by yourself and not follow directions you may lose everything you have invested into your turbocharger.  We are not responsible for any broken turbocharger that is caused by improper and/or wrong installation.

1.    First of all you would need to drain out the original dirty engine oil and fill in new oil to the engine oil line.

2.    Switch on your vehicle by rotating the key 8-10 times (Do not step on the gas, just rotate the key to make the engine to work only).  Drain out the dirty oil (This procedure is for cleaning your engine).  Repeat this procedure 2 times.

3.    Now your engine is completely clean.  Replace the oil filter from your oil pipe, after that fill in clean engine oil until the oil begin to drip.  The engine oil should be the fresh CD class 15W-40 pressure boost engine oil.  Also the current position of the engine oil should be about 5mm above the engine oil line.

4.    Now we start to install the turbocharger.  Tighten all bolts on the turbine housing, compressor housing, and he bearing housing.  Connect the corresponding pipes to the correct position of the turbocharger, except the compressor housing side.  When you connect the pipe to the turbocharger DO NOT use any kind of glue on the gasket to seal it up.  The glue will decrease the flux of the oil and break the turbocharger.

5.    Hold the end of the compressor wheel to stop the shaft from rotating.  Ask the driver to start the engine, let the engine idle for 20 seconds to circulate the engine oil.  (Do not step on the gas)

6.    After 20 seconds, release the compressor wheel and connect the last pipe that is corresponding to the compressor housing.  Let the engine idle for 15 minutes.  Ok we did it! The hard part is over!

7.    Now for the last part.  It would be best if you change your engine oil before test driving your vehicle.

I would pour some oil into the oil feed hole and spin it by hand also. and to prelube it .. pull off the coil wire and spin it over for 20 sec or so reconnect and start her up. id let it idle for 5-10 min before reving it.

I wouldn't.... Just change the oil before you swap the turbo, then spin it over as already suggested... Maybe want to change it again in 1500 miles or so...

alright, I'll let everyone know how the swap goes when I finally get around to doing it.  I still need to get some parts together.

I did none of that when I rebuilt my engine and used a rebuilt turbo center cartridge. :dunno:

If I might ask, who did you buy this turbo from?

What I would do is put a pipe plug in the oil feed hole, then turn the turbo over and fill it with oil through the oil drain hole. Then spin the impellers until almost all the play is out of it (this means that oil has made its way into the bearings). After that, there isn't much else you can do. But, unhooking the coil and cycling the engine a few times to build the oil pressure before actually starting it is probably a good idea.
