Hey guys one question I will start buying tomorrow the parts I need to do the double exhaust,but I want to know if the h pipe will fit with the manifolds and if it will fit okay between the column shifter:tg:

The V-6 manifolds are different than the V-8.Also,on the exhaust,the pipes between the lers and H-Pipe will have to be lengthened about 5 or so inches.I just did all that to my 'Bird ('88 model).Luckily,I have a V-8 so my options are greater,but,there are companies that have headers and exhaust components for a V-6.I'm soory I can't remember the name,but they advertise in 5.0,and Mustang magazines.Anything can be done,though.Time and effort,and sometimes a little money.Find a good ler shop and have some good duals put on.I'd think 2.5 inch exhaust is a little much for a stock 3.8.My own opinion.

I will use 2.25 exhaust but I need to know if the h pipe will fit ok on the v6 manifolds

No,the H-Pipe won't fit with out modifications.It'll fit under the car fine,it just won't fit to your exhaust manifolds correctly.If you have a good set of duals put on,just have them add a crossover and you're good.Same difference basically.Probably cheaper to go have the complete duals installed than to buy everything and have each piece modified to fit the car.Does your tranny crossmember have the double hump or single?If it's the single,you'll probably need to get the double hump.My car was originally a V-6,that's how I learned this stuff.Mine is an '88 T-Bird and it had the double hump crossmember.Luckily.I did what I'm suggesting to you.Had a ler shop install the dual exhaust,nice turbo lers (V-6's can sound really bad with the wrong lers.Sounds like a little motor trying to act bigger than it is),some nice angle cut 3 inch rolled edge exhaust tips,and a crossover.Sounded really nice,like the Grand National (if you've ever heard that Buick,it sounds great,also had a 3.8).The tips out the back looked very similar to a Mustang LX (5.0) with thier nice pipes out the back.I think the total was about $160.00 including the turbo lers.Once I went to the 5.0,I added the H-Pipe,and the s to the duals I already had so it would all fit together like Ford had done it themselves.I hope this helps you out.If I can help,let me know.

I ALWAYS gut mine.I have 4 hollowed cats right now.I'm going to swap in an "off road" pipe with no cats.I've never had any problems what-so-ever with them being hollow.It actually gave the car a deeper tone.

Make sure the tailpipes will fit.Our "birds and Cougars have odd bends around the gas tank that the Mustang doesn't have.I'm using Thrush turbo lers.Nice deep tone,and affordable.As far as the crossover goes,after installing the dual exhaust,they will cut a hole on each side and weld a piece of exhaust pipe in the middle to connect the right and left pipe.A crossover.It egualizes back pressure.I don't know about your tailpipes.My guess would be that the left side may work (perhaps a little short),and the right side is where you'll have most of the trouble due to the fuel tank.You want some room between the exhaust and tank.Safety.

the 3.8L has no benefit from a crossover
It's Gumby's fault.
