car wont idle September 18, 2005, 10:15:14 AM when i first start to work on he car, i start it up, it'll run great, all for about 2 seconds,i can keep it alive, by using gas, and it'll finaly warm up, but still not idle i used this diagramVAM Meter = The Turbo Coupe motor uses a Vane Air Meter (VAM) to calculate the amount of air entering the motor. The stock Mustang motor does not have VAM Meter. You will be using three of the wires that used to go to the EGR position sensor to connect the VAM. Click here for a diagram of the VAM Meter connections.Locate the EGR position sensor plug (3 Wires - Orange/White, Black/White, Brown/Lt-Green) on the Mustang EEC engine bay harness. Cut the Orange w/White stripe wire (Pin Wire 26) from the EGR position plug and connect it to the VRef (Orange w/White stripe) wire from the VAM harness.Cut the Brown w/Light Green stripe wire (Pin Wire 27) from the EGR position plug and connect it to the VAF (White w/Black Stripe) wire from the VAM harness.Cut the Black w/White stripe wire (Pin Wire 46) from the EGR position plug and connect it to the VAM Signal Return (Black w/White stripe) wire from the VAM harness.Move the Dark Green wire (Pin Wire 33) from the EGR Vent Solenoid on the Mustang Computer plug to pin 43. Locate the EGR vent solenoid plug (2 Wires - Red and Dark Green) in the engine bay and cut them from the EGR Vent sensor plug. Connect the Dark Green wire (Now Pin Wire 43) to the Vane Air Temp (Light Green/Purple) wire. Cap off remaining red wire to EGR Vent Solenoid. might it be because i haven't done the premium wiring part ? or because i got my wiring wrong,i can drive this thing, and it hauls butt, but the check engine light comes and goes, i'm not sure what to do !! rarr !! :disappoin Quote Selected

Re: car wont idle Reply #3 – September 18, 2005, 06:43:51 PM Two quick tests. 1. Take the valve out shake it, does it rattle. If yes: GOOD. If not replace becuase is is clogged.2. Remove the dip stick, start the engine. Does the valve stay in place and their is air flow or somke out the dipstick tube? If so this is excessive blow by, time to hone the cylinders and get new piston rings. Quote Selected
Re: car wont idle Reply #4 – September 19, 2005, 10:48:46 AM i was actualy being kinda dumb, i have the PCV hose and valve hooked up to my intake mani, and not the fresh ait side of the turbo, so every time i went into boost, it'd blow of my PCV valvebut i'm still running into a few minor problem, it runs sorta rough, but i can stick my finger in the vane meter, and hole the door open just a little bit more, and it richen's up, and idles smooth, but i tap the gas, and it puffs a hair of blue smoke, i think cause it's running to rich, now, there are some factors i know are a slight issue,1. 3 month old 1/16th of a tank of gas2. Stock fuel pump (i've got the 255 LPH on the way !! )Another thing i'm noticing, is there is a ticking sound coming from some where around the distrb cap, but i do the old screw driver to the ear trick, and find out it's the last injector, ticking it's way into misory...do you think i should take my injectors and get them flowed?!
