88 cougar XR7 8.8 axle August 30, 2005, 11:07:00 PM I have the limited slip rear axle out of my 88 XR7 for sale. The rear has 62,000 miles on it. I belive the car has 3:08 gears. I live in Kankakee Il. I'm an hour S. of Chicago. I'm asking $100.00 OBO Thanks. Dan Quote Selected

I live in Marshall, IL, so the distance wouldn't be an issue. Does that axle still have drum brakes? I've got an '83 LS Cougar with a busted rear axle, and I think it has 3.08's, but of course it's a 7.5 open rear. An 8.8 would be great for any added HP I might drop in in the future (compared to the current carbed 3.8). Let me know if you still have it and if you could hang onto it a little longer.
