Any flaming river steering shafts work for thunderbirds?

I have a clearance problem on my tbird with a 351w with bbk longtubes and the rag joint, more specifically the metal ]-[ deal ishiznitting the #3 header.  Wondering if anyone knows of a steering joint that has u-joints like the flaming river that will work on our cars.

I also thought about just bending the ]-[ deal or cutting it somehow so that it would clear, as the actual rag does clear, but I fear that this might jeapordize the shaft somehow.

Appreciate any information.

Thanks,
Aaron

I used a MM steering shaft to clear my headers and for the fact that my old one was a few turns away from coming apart! You can also shim your steering column to gain a little more clearance. I used both methods to gain more clearance.

Darkthunder,
Thanks for the info, did you use the 87-93 or the 94-up MM piece?

Thanks,
Aaron

87-93. SN-95s are totally different. Oh, and if you need it soon, (and live on the east coast like i) try to find a MM distributor (like http://www.stangsuspension.com) because ground shipping from Cali is murder! lol, I swear I checked the tracking on that thing at least ten times a day.
