Re: help belt problems Reply #2 – August 07, 2005, 03:32:50 PM the pulley is on the right way its like the whole smog pump is on wrong but i dont see how that could be Quote Selected

Re: help belt problems Reply #5 – August 07, 2005, 04:52:47 PM I *think* that you could use the belt tensioner and just use a shorter belt. Quote Selected
Re: help belt problems Reply #6 – August 07, 2005, 04:57:31 PM so get a belt that is short so it pushes the tensioner up more out of my way Quote Selected

Re: help belt problems Reply #8 – August 08, 2005, 11:03:11 AM I couldn't really see much in those photos. When you start the car and it's idling, and you lift the hood, can you see a physical wobble in any of the pullies? It could be that one of them is not seating properly, or is out of round, or you may just need a new idler pulley. You can try tightening down the air pump bolts with the belt on...same for the water pump bolts. Those bolts have to be tightened down under the load of the belt. Have you thrown the belt off before or something? Quote Selected
Re: help belt problems Reply #9 – August 08, 2005, 12:08:39 PM if you live in michigan, just yank the smog pump. just a waste of hp.. hehe. Quote Selected

Re: help belt problems Reply #11 – August 08, 2005, 10:40:27 PM it looks to me like the bottom bolt on the alt. is not tight enough and its rubbing against the pulley Quote Selected
