Re: Ultra low mileage 84 Cougar Reply #1 – March 07, 2025, 07:48:04 PM and,, there it is,,,,,the very first damage to a perfect car,, lifting it by the rocker pinch welds..........I have had two cougs and shops would "oops" lift from that area and one actually punched through the rocker and refused to work out any kind of deal with me to do a reasonable fix... and that was just a tire shop in oceana virginia when i was active duty way back when.lift by the subframe up front and by the rear torque box out back.i fitted rubber mining belts to all four corners of mine painted RED/yellow,,, and it says "lift here" right on the side profile of the rocker.fox' cars get so much abuse from improper lifting... and we just saw this one get it also. They are lifting per the owners manual for a sissor pinch style jack..... FoMoCo shops got a tech bulletin to stop lifting from the pinch welds way back in the 70's with pinch weld rocker style chassis.this urks me,, tyrad over.. Quote Selected
