Nothing I can tell that is wrong with the rear end itself, I'm thinking it has to be bushings or suspension, something along those lines. It'll be a while before I can figure that stuff out, this winter at some point. Thanks for all the help

What did the 8.8 come out of?  Does it have disc brakes?

It came out of an 88 TC, with disc brakes

Check you brakes and make sure you assembled them correctly ie the caliper not moving and clunking around. Did the shop put new axle bearings in? These would be the ones in the outer axle tube not the ones holding the carrier in the rear end.
