1987 bmw 325e

Do you guys know anything about these cars?  My son is dead set on getting one.  Found one with a inline 6 with 5sp manual.  200K ish miles.

What to look out for, etc.

The chassis code is e30. That's how everyone else refers to those cars. They're pretty solid cars. Sometimes the floor pans rust, around the wheel wells too. They're also old enough that bmw didn't start doing stupid/weird things to them yet.

I should also add, with e30s there's a good online support on forums and youtube. So most anything that'll need fixed, there's resources available. I've thought about getting one before. Also, ask when it last had a timing belt and water pump replaced. Try to find one that hasnt been slammed to the ground with like -10deg of camber and beer tap handle for a shifter. Id avoid those cars.

Doesnt look too bad. Especially for the price. Some people want upwards of 3k for those cars. Another disadvantage is that most parts stores don't really carry bmw parts. So then you have to buy online from like Pelican parts, Turner motorsports, etc. And then you have to wait for it to ship.
