the NOS nintindo NES

i cant help it,i just got a good read on the so called retro nintindo NES they are sold out on.. looks just like the old one but new.

here is a direct quote from the current review.. i fell out when i read said the last few words,,

"While there’s a lot to love about the console, there are a few areas in need of improvement. The short length of the controller’s cord isn’t optimized for sitting on the couch — perhaps that’s why we always played on the floor years ago."

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

This new NES thing is a complete waste. It has 30 games on it, and no possibility of adding games.

Pick up a Raspberry Pi, get a micro SD card, a phone charger that charges at 2 amps, a usb controller, and load RetroPie onto the SDcard. Load ROMs onto the Pi. Overclock the Pi. Enjoy.

I have probably 200 games on mine and have hardly put a dent in my SD card. I got bored before I got the N64 controller set up.

I do still have my NES, SNES, Genesis, Atari, and most console since those.

There's supposed to be a Sega version coming out too. Like Shawn, I use an emulator and ROM's for the old games (including arcade). I've been planning on building a MAME cabinet for a while. I have the parts, but lack the time.

One thing to remember with these classic games: they were designed for 20" CRT monitors at 320x240 resolution and 4:3 aspect ratio. They will look like absolute shiznit on a modern 16:9, 50" 1080P HD TV. And if your HDTV is plasma they will actually damage the screen if you play any large amount of time.

I bought my first smart phone around late 2007. I loaded it up with old dos and sega games then. Sorta gave up on roms forever ago. Still have them on my memory card. Still using the same one. Think I paid like $80 for all 8 gigs back then.

I have an old computer that I no longer use hooked up to the our main TV.  I have emulators for a few different old systems so I can just fire it up anytime I'm feeling nostalgic.

a Sega version coming out too

It's out, and also, a repop of the Atari.

Myself, I want the new Playstation Pro, a smallish (24-32 inch) 4K tv, and for the new Gran Turismo game to drop ASAP.

I had an Atari, the first gen Nintendo, a SNES, the first gen Playstation, a PS2, PS3, and currently do my gaming on a PS4.

I've still got all of the Sony stuff, though only the PS3 and -4 are hooked up, as is our WiiU.

Nintendo is going to release a "big" console, more along the lines of the PS4 and the XB1.

Speaking of Micro$uck, I wouldn't have an xbox up me arse if I had room for a space shuttle. They're inferior in every way to their Sony counterparts.

Nintendo already announced the Switch. It's actually pretty  cool. Gimmicky, but cool.

Ironically enough, my gaming time has been split between my PC and my N64.

We sat on the floor because the TV was only 20", lol. Even if you were l337-enough to have any of the line-of-sight IR wireless controllers, they were very lousy at any distance longer than the cord would be.

Too bad you can play duck hunt, wild gunman or Gotcha! on a TV which it is not CRT based.

Those games did get boring once you got good at them. I ended up playing Wild Gunman at a convention for probably 30 minutes and put the game down because I got bored.

I was house sitting for a buddy when a game shop was going out of business and bought gt3 for a whole $2, a few year later I bought a slim playstation. Only real game console ive owned to date, and it was litterly just for grand turismo.

Before that, I played atari games on a old ti-99 home personal computer and had a few 8088's kicking around after I got bored of my sega.

The one thing I really dislike about Sony is backward-compatibility with the older system games.

I want to be able to play GTII and 3 and 5 and 6 on my PS4. By GT, I mean Gran Turismo. No need for graphics overhaul, though I ed sure wouldn't complain..

Anybody here on PS4?

I have a ps3 and ps4 that were gifted to me. I let the kids use it for Netflix and YouTube.
