85 Elan with pwr recliners/loaded 88 Sport

I've seen an 85 brochure that had heated front seats, never seen them either, aside from in the 20th Cougars.

My 87 lx tbird was almost fully loaded and had power recline. Was pretty sweet, until one day I had my starter solenoid get stuck cranking the car over at the gas station.

I managed to pop the battery cable off, but my tools were in the trunk with no trunk key. I had been using the trunk popper to open it. Then I couldn't roll down the power windows and I couldn't recline the seat for the two hours I was sitting there in 100°f + bright and sunny afternoon. I didn't dare leave the car as the gas station threatened to call a tow truck if I left it there. After that, I no longer was a fan of power anything.

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

Yeah, I know it was a more common option on the 87-88 cars.

Loving that 85 Elan. Period correct mods, nice body and interior... If it was half the price and twice as close I'd have to think really hard about it

Agreed. It's never going to be a 10k car.

Nice bird, the 85 that is.
Paint is making up most of that price tag along with the 5lug,  not sure it will bring in the $ they are asking though.

wont see those spoilers anymore either.
