He's wanting to de-smog and remove the computer system. Will the EEC IV distributor work without the computer? If not, is there a distributor that will work on the engine? It has the mechanical distributor and uses the Duraspark II ignition system. It also has a carb and mechanical fuel pump.The EEC IV distributor will work without the computer but not very well. It will stay at the base timing without any spark advance, if the correct voltages are on the TFI. On the 86, the computer also controls the fuel delivery system. Quote Selected
