Really good head gaskets.... Reply #4 – February 03, 2015, 11:40:42 PM I have used standard issue Fel pro from Autozone and haven't had issues. Didn't know if they would be good enough or should I step up to the higher cost fel Pro gaskets? Quote Selected
Really good head gaskets.... Reply #5 – February 04, 2015, 12:50:22 AM Personally, id look at your ptv, quench, overall compression ratio and factor all of those things in. If you have plenty of ptv and wouldn't mind a slight (very slight) bump in compression, id look through all the part numbers one at a time, Google them to see what other people say, then run the one that fits best.Overall, pretty much everyone just goes with a standard felpro unless the have oringed heads or are running boost. Really good head gaskets.... Reply #6 – February 04, 2015, 07:42:45 AM PTV clearance is fine even with a standard Fel Pro gasket. i am putting new rings and bearings in the extra engine as well. I will go with the standard issue Fel Pro gaskets then. Quote Selected
Really good head gaskets.... Reply #7 – February 04, 2015, 01:32:42 PM Fel-Pro 9333PT1 are very good head gaskets, even though they are stock replacement HO gaskets. Probably some of the best out there. Use them and some ARP head bolts and you should be fine. Quote Selected
Really good head gaskets.... Reply #8 – February 04, 2015, 04:50:27 PM X2 on Lou's advice. I'm going to order a set of ARP bolts for my heads since I've been sick again and have made less progress than I had hoped for. Still have to get over to Fastenal for my plenum bolts... it..I've got the Fel Pro HG's too, though I don't know whcih part number..have to look at 'em, but I'm barefooted, and it's snowing...so...maybe in a bit.
