I went and looked at it yesterday, it's a little rough, but ran ok, brake & abs lights were on, windows, clock, radio, and wipers didn't work. brake pedal was really hard, and the Firm light came on whenever i hit the brakes.

That could be a nice find...... could be as simple as some blown fuses, as thats a lot of non working stuff all at once.  Look at the main vacspooge line by the firewall, if it popped off you will have to stand on the brakes as the booster isn't getting vacuum.  Happened to me 3 months ago on my Cougar.  BTW is the thumb included with the car?  :-)

The hard pedal is due to a failed brake acspoogeulator ball. That why the brake light is on. Spinning wheels sc has new ones available. I have a huge collection of good used ones.

As much as I'd love an intercooled Turbo Coupe, I think I'm going to pass on it, they are just way too complex.

The windows, clock, radio, wipers etc are probably all related to one thing. My guess would be a bad ignition switch or ignition switch connector (or both), or a burned or broken fusible link out by the battery.

An '87 TC doesn't really have anything more complex than a base 87-88 Bird, except for the ride control and ABS. Parts for the ABS system are readily available, as jandmmustangs said, and the PRC system is usually pretty reliable except for the fact that you can't buy new PRC struts anymore. If the body of the car is decent (CHECK THE FRONT FRAME RAILS!!!!) and it runs decent and builds boost without tailpipe smoke, it's probably worth snagging. Remember, opportunities with these cars are getting rarer...

the positive cable to the battery was pretty beat up, that could affect a bunch of stuff?

Well if both the red brake light and the yellow ABS light are on you've got problems. More than likely the acspoogeulator died. Then it was run with a dead acspoogeulator for quite some time which killed the pump (running on every brake application). So now it probably needs a $900 rebuilt master cylinder/brake booster assembly. Screw that. Convert to vacuum brakes. I'm more than likely going to do that to my Mark VII. The Teves II system is a very stupid design vs the later ABS systems.
