key question

Why is the ignition key also the door key? Not just on Fox bodies either, MN12s are the same way.

How much of GM's bailout dollars went to making an extra key for every vehicle? :rollin:

I honestly dont think you could exceed the cost of a new car buy installing new *stock* parts everywhere in your coug our tbird. Its just plain impossible. You could revamp the entire drivetrain/engine/suspenstion and still come out ahead.

I don't get this, most cars are like this.
If anything i would want all the locks on my car to use the same key, ignition, doors, and the trunk

The reason for different keys was to keep parking lot jockeys from having access to your trunk and glove compartment. That's why the trunk release button is behind the glove compartment door on the 84.
