Boport and stinger performance are the main ones but there are others like racer walsh, esslinger, etc.

Bo is GONE. And parts for the 2.3 are very scarce. many companies that supply parts do not have roller cams any more. And Roller cams are mandatory on them. Esslinger has parts but i contacted them and there sales people SUCK and according to the owner he claims several roller cams but when you call them they tell you they only have one . And the one available is in my opinion not something i would run. Schneider will grind you any profile you want and that is who i use all the time. Have a great evening guys

Anyone know what these run stock?  Could they handle a 50 shot of spray?

IF the tune is right, I think they are pretty tough.  Should handle a 50 shot easily.  New head gasket and studs may give you some leeway.

You have to drive them like you are trying to kill them, to get much performance out of them.

Open the exhaust up after the turbo "elbow and downpipe and then the rest of the way out"  Front mount intercooler, then turn the boost up.  Make sure you have a good Walbro pump, 255 lph and clean injectors.

The Midnighter makes TUNS OF WHP on a Mustang. But it is not cheap to do on a 2.3. You can install a front mount but you can not increase the BOOST on the IHI. The IHI is only good for around 18-19 LBS MAX. You will need a bigger turbo to make more boost. Then you will have to get a bigger cam and OS VALVES and if you want over 300 WHP a stand alone and head work is mandatory. Otherwise your pumping losses will be huge. I have been building 2.3 Fords for many many years and know how to make HP with them. My little 2.3 will surprise you as it has surprised several V8 guys in the past. The 2.3 is a head gasket eater when boost is increased so studs are mandatory . Other than that i love my 2.3 it makes the V8 guys cringe when they are looking at my tail lights. have a great evening guys.

Bruiser ran 14.6 @98 Totally stock with one of my tunes.

Yes a 2.3 will handle a 50 shot if you tune it properly. BUT!!! That is about it for a bottle on that engine.

Tom, I wouldn't say Bo is gone just yet. He is making considerable headway in getting caught back up. I realize his reputation has taken a beating, but once he is back on an even keel, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase parts/services from him.

Slowbird, look around at Turboford. There are people still making/modifying stuff for these engines. It all depends on how far you want to go with it.

Where the hell is he going to sell his 2.3 parts. The guys over there on turbo ford got screwed by this guy. And some make it very well known. And other people that he burned as i have read on other 2.3 sites. So if his heads can not fit chevys he is screwed . The guy is great but messed up quite badly. I feel for him but business is business as they say. His reputation as a good business man is shot as i read it and reputation is everything. Many 2.3 owners are very mad at this guy. 40 BOB is another vendor that screwed many people including me. Personally i dont care because being in business has it's issues like this. But to take peoples money and disappearing with it is stealing and against the law as i see it. Time will tell. There are other 2.3 guys around but not many. Thank God i do all my own work and have a custom cam grinder and porter that ports my heads that i buy from. BO also does not post cam specks another DUMB thing he did. I personally want to see the numbers and make my own decisions on cams. I do not need someone selling me a mystery cam and then i have to plot it after paying big bucks for it. The cam might be something i already have or not care to use. Very bad policies by BO for SURE. Have a great eveninng.

If Bo keeps pace with getting caught up, he'll get his business back *eventually*.  I don't condone what he or Bob did to those guys, but if everything gets straightened out the customers will return, save for those who live in the past.  Stinger's a good option for performance parts and the Pimp, Wilson Racing for Megasquirt (I'm working on installing one right now), Gnari is still fairly new, but there are a few people running their stuff.  For little, miscellaneous items, there is MC Machine, Race Engineering, Maximum Motorsports, etc.

Racer Walsh is the one that's going down the tubes at the moment.  There has been some talk of it on TF lately.

Sad to see the demise of 2.3 performance vendors.
I want to build me another 2.3 and stick it into my 88 Bronco II drag truck.

OP:

To give you an idea to what the 2.3 is capable of, here is a link to my 2.3 TC that uses mostly stock parts ( except for the stock lift "stocker" cam) and SDS EFI system.
Granted it is an 85-86 with the Garrett turbo, but it might give you an idea of what those little engines are capable of.

I still want to see somebody take a rwd 2.3L Duratec from a Ranger, put a good head on it (I've heard that the 04+ Focus ST has the best head), a T5 bellhousing, a T3 d header, and dump it in a TC.  I've got a T-Bird project already, so it's not going to be me, but as far as I know, nobody's done it.  I think you could get WAY more out of a Duratec based 2.3L IC Turbo, they just breathe better and the performance aftermarket is much bigger for the newer engine.

Here we go FOE CLA 45 AMG the highest factory 4 banger made so far. I dynowed it @ 354 AWHP  MB says it is 355 AWHP. With installing a down pipe Renntech ECU and a full exhaust including other mods we accomplished 391 AWHP. Not bad for a stock car. But then again the price is quite high. We also did the complete suspension and wheels brakes and other goodies. This is the first one in the country and found it's way to our shop for mods. By the way we did this when the car had 40 MILES ON IT!! We also did all the blackout details on the body and carbon fiber accessories. Just posting this to show the potential of a four banger, As you said head flow is the KEY. By the way YES the factory warranty is voided!!!  Have a great day guys

Here we go the old or should i say the new factory exhaust removed. At 4500 bucks someone can use it so the customer sold it. It is a duel tone with electric cutouts stock.
