Mustang H-pipe, differences?

Looking to put headers on my 3.8 and need the h-pipe.  Is there a difference between v6 and v8 H-pipes?

There's a V6 H-pipe?

Well, when I brought this up earlier, I was told to get a stock h-pipe with the headers.  I'm assuming that meant there is such a thing...

I know people have reported being able to use a V8 h-pipe with the V6 headers by bending the pipes a little bit.  This would be easier if you got a cat-less off-road h-pipe for a stang that has the slip-joint in the middle.

yes, he is correct, the stock 3.8L headers exit in a very similar place to the 5.0 headers, theyre just slightly tweaked

you could use a stock h-pipe from a fox 5.0, with the 4 cats, which would be ideal for the 3.8L, but youd have to get it loosley into position, then tighten down both sides a bit at a time, so they could evenly settle, rather then all the tweaking be done to one side

if you do that method, might also be your best bet to have some new studs pressed into the headers

if you use an h-pipe with the slip fit crossover, you basically put it together, without clamping the cross over, and when you put it into place, the crossover takes up the movement needed, once its on and together, clamp it, then take it someone to have it welded
It's Gumby's fault.

I'm thinking the slip-fit in the center is why I didn't have any problems installing my H-pipe as many others had reported using a one-piece H-pipe.
