You could go buy all that and do all that work, OR you could get a whole 2.3L TurboCoupe engine from a yard with it's VAM and just bolt it in and swap the PCM.  At stock power levels, you could probably even get away with NOT swapping the fuel pump.  The only thing you have to think about is plumbing the fuel and exhaust, and (if you get an intercooled engine) getting air across the intercooler, which shouldn't be that hard with a little body work on the hood.

Hey 5.0Thunderbird

What year ranger?  If its an 87-88 2.3 5speed the swap is cake...not another easy swap.  I agree with above...find a complete 2.3T engine...87-88 would be fine...although any will work...including the Merkur.

I would suggest you go checkout http://www.turboford.net lots of info there on this swap...its been done many times on that board...no so much here.

Also the 89-94 ranger is pretty easy...more to change over the 87-88 ranger 2.3.  The 95-01 are EEC-V 108 wire computers verse the 60 wire...and your typical 2.3 ranger with a manual doesnt use many.

Good luck,

Travis
