Speedometer module burnt out

Doesn't anyone know the bulb # for the center speedometer module?
Current: 1986 Thunderbird, 105k 3.8/C5, 2 tone  Midnight Wine/Medium Taupe, wing windows, wire wheel covers.


Former: 1985 Cougar GS 115k Oxford White/Regatta Blue, 5.0, full console, 14" 8 hole aluminum T-Bird rims, Edelbrock valve covers.

ill go look, i know they are special "kinda" but still take the regular cheapy ones.

i can see the thread in my mind,, turbocoupe50 said something about this a year or so ago about the certain pn that illuminates better than oem.

anyway, you already must have noticed the sockets are a different color as well.

brb,, ill see what one of my clusters have.

I have a little 25w halogen bulb that fits a 194 socket that I like to use. A508-14.  I'd consider the heat carefully, though, before you put it in your cluster.  Thing is hella bright.

I'm familiar with these, I've been through this before with my 90 LS, you could see the displays if you shined a light on them. These were an unusual setup (lighted LCD instead of LED). How many bulbs are there for the speedo/odo, 2? Could it be a fuse? I highly doubt 2 bulbs would burn out at the exact same time, although, that display is lit up whenever the car is on.

probably only had one to begin with. I used 194's when mine burnt up.

Just put some 194's in, yeah it is a lot brighter than before! 194's should be ok, right?

But I did the one thing I tried not to do: I broke the  shifter indicator,  it!!

I feel your pain.  I pulled mine 2 years ago for mods and broke the prndl.  Had to go without til I got the current car. Even then I xplanted the good one into the other cluster (along with the odo prom), which I in turn also xplanted into the current car.  All better now, but those  things are almost made of glass.

I THINK I saw an indicator piece like the one you broke on Ebay the other day.

the speedo has two bulbs and are 2033


the base of the 2033 bulb is just like the 194.
the end of the 194 is roundy looking while the 2033 bulb end comes to  a tear drop point.
