Gotta love white.  Looks like the cars are slowly climbing in value.

The asking prices are different than the selling prices.

That's got the same wrinkles on the passenger inner fender as this one:

Appears to be wrinkled worse, the factory VIN is missing and there seems to be an aftermarket sticker on the fender instead.  Definitely increased odds of previous damage on that side.

That's got to have been in an accident, especially with that sticker on the inner fender. What are the odds that both of those cars would have damage in the same place? Both my Thunderbird and Mark VII are flat in that area so some sort of damage had to occur in that Cougar's past. I doubt it could be factory damage.

Still looks nice but not worth $7500 if it's not "all original".

somewhere in the sellers side of the fence, there is a lie.

this is a perfect example of why i hate liers.

there are two options
they have not had it since new and they did not know about a fender bender ~option 1 lie
they know about the fender bender and did not say and have had it since new. ~option 2 lie

Sort of.  It appears they are a small dealer who perhaps just acquired it from the family (via trade or consignment for instance) that has had it the whole time.  If so, maybe the family didn't say anything or the owner within the family who was around when the accident occurred is no longer around and a younger family member was the most recent owner and doesn't know about the hit.  That kind of hit would have had to happen early in the car's life to make the cost of the repair still lower than the value.

It appears the driver fender also has the same aftermarket sticker.

Previous accidents aren't necessarily bad if they aren't extreme (frame, flood, etc).  My After was in an accident early in its life.  I knew about it before buying and the seller told me anyway.  You can see the repair on that front corner of the inner fender and I noticed it when I showed up to first look at it.  But it was minor enough so as not to jeopardize the integrity of the car and the rest of the car was what I wanted at a reasonable price so I still bought it.  And that is why between Before and After (which used to be twins), I decided to repaint and do the modifications to After because Before is more original than After - Before hasn't had any bodywork or anything done.  After did have that history and you could see darker black on the front end on clear sunny days.  So After at least needed a full repaint to "clean up" the previous repair from the early 90s.

As long as the buyer knows about it and the extent of it, some people don't mind if they aren't buying for originality.  But yes, that asking price reflects a very low mileage 100% original car.

If that price is reality, I should maybe consider selling some of my Cougars. :shoothead

I have to agree with you. For that much money the car better be all original. It's still nice but due to the accident early in it's life it's not worth as much as an all original car.

It's still hard to find ones that aren't rusted out though, at least in my neck of the woods.
