Guess what I get to do this holiday weekend.

In the midst of educating a turbo cobalt driver on the virtue of a V8 RWD car, I suddenly got myself a foggy windshield.  .  It was pretty dramatic, I'm sure he thought a smoke bomb went off in my car.

It would have been pretty visible to him through my BACK WINDOW.

Sorry, J, I don't think so.  Besides, I just had this dash out to swap the HVAC, harness and cluster, and it's only a 2 hour job anyway.  I wish I had opened the plenum cover on the HVAC box when I had it out, I probably would have seen signs of leakage.  The part was only $25, and the time would have been next to nothing.

Make sure you put the restrictor back in the inlet hose.

I'm waiting for my Mark VII to blow it's original core. That should be fun.

Nah it's a Lincoln ;).

Just a bit of caution: the heater core for a electronic climate control car is slightly different than the one for a manual HVAC car. I think the ECC equipped Thunderbirds, Cougars, and Mark VIIs share a heater core. The standard Mustang one won't work, at least it didn't when I swapped the one on my Thunderbird. I had to get one for an electronic climate control car.

Foe's right, no difference between EATC & Non-EATC. Although there is a difference between cars with A/C and Non-A/C cars.

Really? I orderd one from NAPA years ago and the non-EATC one was different than the EATC one. They even had different part numbers. The non-EATC one was listed as also fitting a Mustang. I did end up returning the NAPA core and getting a Motorcraft one from the dealer. This was about 8 years ago.

The difference between the A/C and Non-A/C heater cores is the way the tubes coming out are routed. The A/C one has the tubes towards one side and non-A/C one has them in the middle.

Mine had the best AC of all my vehicles, and it is by far the oldest.
