Mineral gray, or Grabber Blue?

What color would you put on an '88 Sport, if it was your car and needed paint?

These are the two I've decided on, and while it won't happen until probably a couple years from now, I was curious what people's thoughts were.

Here's a Grabber Blue 'Bird.

And here's an '03 Cobra in the mineral gray, as I couldn't find a Fox Bird with that paint.

Let me know what YOU would have, of those two paint colors ;)

Mineral gray.

Then again I've got a Grabber Blue Mustang in the garage next to the Thunderbird. The blue looks like more of a Mustang color to me. It does look good on that Thunderbird you linked to though. I think the gray would look better in the long run.

I'd say to go look through some paint chip books and find a color that fits a Thunderbird, but not a color that you will see on other Birds or cougars. There are many colors that will be fine on a Stang, but the Birds just can't do it.

Just me go with the GRAY. The BLUE is to bold (BRIGHT) for a big car.

Lighter Brighter colors normally fit better with small cars. Just saying!

We go through this all the time in the BODY SHOP WITH CUSTOMERS.

Just a suggestion the final decision is yours!

Paint chips is an option but once the car is painted it does not pan out all the time. You need to sample a bigger test pannel to better judge. JR does test pannels all the time

Also their are many variances in the same color mix!!! Some paints have as many as 12.

I think if you were trying to grab as much attention as possible, Grabber blue is for you.  I think, though, that Mineral Gray is much more sophisticated for a Fox Bird.  It doesn't scream "look at me", It says "look out for me".  I think Mineral Gray is a much more grown up color, but being grown up isn't all of what we're all going for, so I say Mineral Gray with "ghost flames"

Yeah.

Grabber blue if you will be doing a lot of customization.  Mineral gray if you are keeping it mostly stock.
"lol.. because not too many people care for that style of car"

Good points folks..., still no idea of which.

It's at least a year from paint, but it's a lot further than where it was even a month ago.

When I show pics of it next, a lot of you will be surprised.

I'd photoshop your car in both colors and set the pictures aside for a month.  Look then, and see what moves you.  Perhaps a third color option may be possible?  It will really depend on what other things you do with the car... wheels (what "theme" are you planning?), ride height, exhaust, window tint, trim removal, etc.

Tinted windows, slightly lowered, maybe an inch or so, basically what it is now, belt line trim removed, TC hood, header, and bumper cover, possibly an MN12 spoiler...body color mirrors.

I'm pretty unoriginal when it comes to things like this...I think the Grabber Blue looks hot as hell though.

The 'shop idea is gold, will be doing that in PS tomorrow, I think.

I like the Grabber Blue, but it just dosen't look right on a bird. It is more for older muscle cars and small cars. I would go with the grey.
