87 T-bird, Nice - STL

My Dad has decided it is time to let someone else enjoy his 87 T-bird. This car was purchased in 8/07 thru a Craigslist ad posted in a "Leads" section of this forum.

3.8 v6, 140K, very little rust. This is a solid car to drive or use as a base for your project!

He used the car as a daily driver from the time of purchase up thru the winter of 2012. In that time it was maintained by a small, privately owned repair shop whose owner enjoyed seeing, and helping to keep, such a clean example on the road.
Routine oil changes, tune up, brakes, belts, hoses, tires, battery/cables, and exhaust work has all been kept up. The steering rack and motor mounts were also been replaced when they required attention. One of the front springs was broken at the time of purchase, so I swapped in a full set of TC springs, new struts/shocks, and added a TC rear sway bar as well.

All these pictures are slightly older, but the car has been garage kept the entire time and is still in comparable condition as shown. The paint suffers from the normal bumps and scuffs that occur in daily driver duties, but is in great shape overall. The missing center cap has been replaced.

There are no cracks in the dash and the full center console is original. Power driver's seat, mirrors, windows, and locks. HU is AM/FM/CD with front AUX jack. I swapped out the seats(front and rear), and the steering wheel with clean pieces from a TC.

A quick list of shortcomings:
  • Console lid is cracked(again...)
  • Driver's window has not been tinted after replacement(vandals)
  • A/C not charged
  • Yellowed headlight lenses
  • Possible windshield re-seal(damp carpet after heavy rain)

And on the odd side of the option list, this car came equipped with a full size spare. I don't believe it has ever been installed or touched the ground under the weight of a vehicle.

I swapped it out for a mini spare in the name of trunk space, but the full size spare is still here in my garage and will be available to the new owner if they desire it. I can also make available a power seat harness from a TC that will allow the proper function of the lumbar support for the TC driver's seat.

If this sale were a few years from now, it wouldn't be posted here as I would buy the car myself and use it as basis for the nice street bruiser my T-bird was intended to be before I went all wannbe racecar with it.... As things stand currently, I have no room for it and too many project irons in the fire already.

it. Why do all these things show up after I buy a Mark VII?

Good luck with the sale. I'd buy it but I've already got 4 cars at the house and no garage space.
