A new Bird for me!

Picked this up this morning, 1980 Thunderbird with 54k original miles. Better pics will be up tomorrow, these are the sellers. Its in wonderful shape, guys dad bought it new & only drove it a few years before he died. Hasn't been on the road since 96, hasn't been driven any real distance since 83. Power efffing nothing :P a 302 and A/C that looks about it. Needs a good solid tuneup, a carb & a new brake booster and shes good to go!

I've now had every body style of T-bird or Cougar from 77-97 :D

Edit photobucket is not cooperating! >:( here's his CL ad thats still up.

Nice...there's some BoxFox fans here, you'll fit in. What's the plans for it?

Ummm, as of right now i'm just gonna drive it, it's pretty different than any other Tbird i've had. I kinda like that it's simple, not a whole lot that can go wrong, I won't have to play with window or seat motors for once :D

I have a '79 Heritage that i'm either putting an engine in or selling for about a 1/4 of my investment (D: i dont wanna!!) or selling my '65 Imperial. I'm trying to stray away from Ma Mopar, much too expensive for my taste & that's if you can FIND the parts, lol.

but i've ballooned up to four cars now, at least one has to go.

Orange and brown isn't exactly my favorite color combo, but it's growing on me. It is nice to have a break from baby blue & white

That's my truck & the Heritage before i had the top put on. There's a 68 Plymouth Fury III behind them

AOD?  Cruise?

Travis

Nope, no cruise & a C4. As far as options go all i see is the 302 & leather seats. Manual seat, crank windows, manual mirrors, no premium sound either.

I wasnt too crazy about the colours either but after I got mine polished up I really like it.

Mine is a Town Landau, you dont see too many base model cars with tu-tone paint.

Nice heritage too.

A few pics of the old motor and the new motor waiting its turn. The oil pan was paper thin along the sides & literally every single freeze plug was on the edge of popping (even the one behind the bell housing)

Should've been done with it done a couple weeks ago but we dropped the oil pump shaft down into the pan & we weren't to enthusiastic about getting it out. >:(  Dropping the pan and fishing it out wasn't nearly as hard as i thought, just really tight and awkward. We've got it running now, I get paid wendsday night so I'm gonna take it to get a set of duals and have the timing light put on it, then it should be good to go mechanically!
