Let's Talk Cams.. Reply #1 – February 15, 2013, 09:51:45 PM I would consider the F cam an upgrade over the E cam, but I havent ran either of them. Quote Selected
Let's Talk Cams.. Reply #2 – February 15, 2013, 10:02:17 PM Both those cams are close in specks. Split grind Hydraulic rollers and if in a tail pipe state most likely will fail with the F. Personally a split grind custom cam will outperform both of them. But for the price they are reasonable. They need special tuning on early OBD systems and normally run poorly on said ECM'S. With that i am willing to say they are close in performance with the E having a better RPM band slightly better than the FTo answer your original Question My answer is NO!! Quote Selected
Let's Talk Cams.. Reply #3 – February 15, 2013, 10:07:47 PM Thanks Tom thats what i wanna know, i run a carb set up also inspection aint a problem local guy has an F cam for sale $100. i know a custom grind is way better just seeing what options i have. Thanks Quote Selected
Let's Talk Cams.. Reply #4 – February 15, 2013, 10:14:41 PM F cam is a good blower cam I have run them n/a and they have a nice 3,000 + rpm range Why not run 1.7 with the E Quote Selected
Let's Talk Cams.. Reply #5 – February 15, 2013, 11:13:54 PM For $100 bucks I'd buy it and resell, make a few bucks.A TFS-1 cam is pretty good, but obviously a new one will be more than a Benjamin...more than two, for that matter. Quote Selected

Let's Talk Cams.. Reply #7 – February 16, 2013, 08:27:42 AM Are you keeping it hydraulic? or willing to go solid roller, street use? Going turbo? Going carbed? I would not consider an E to an F cam an upgrade either. I would go right to Z or contact comp cams. I have 4 or 5 custom grinds from them now, Just remember to tell em you are a street car, or you will get a cam specs with over 650 lift. I think 565 lift is max for stock spyder tray setup. The z303 has 550ish lift if I remember right good for stock lifter tray. I don't buy used cams either, had trouble every time! Quote Selected
Let's Talk Cams.. Reply #8 – February 16, 2013, 09:40:47 AM car does get driven to the track/street use, it is a carb set up/nitrous might just go with a custom grind for nitrous(since the car is pretty much set up for it) just saw the add an was wondering if it was a upgrade to what an Ecam is. thanks guys Quote Selected
Let's Talk Cams.. Reply #9 – February 16, 2013, 03:21:06 PM $100 for a letter cam is about right no less no more so its not that good of a deal If you want a good cam get a Anderson but you will pay $$ lol Quote Selected
Let's Talk Cams.. Reply #10 – February 17, 2013, 12:19:17 AM You would be disappointed for sure if you went through all that work and you have more power sooner but same later. If you were running a blower there might be more of a difference between the e and f but who knows for sure. If you are wanting to stay hydraulic cam you can upgrade the spyder tray and lifters and go high as 575 580ish lift. I think keeping stock spider tray and staying lower the 565 would be the way to go for a street car. Get some specs from comp cams and then get that cam made from somewhere cheaper. I don't know what ford racing cams cost new in the US, but your looking at a couple bucks shy of $500 from the local ford dealer here and that comes with 3 week wait and that's bare cam no lifters!! What intake manifold, carb, heads and converter stall are you running? Just curious, no one else races fords in my area, just me. Quote Selected
Let's Talk Cams.. Reply #12 – February 17, 2013, 08:11:18 AM Yeah, I gotta move to the States! Everything is more than double here. Just bought a water pump pulley from the Dodge dealer 4 hours away, they wanted $224, and if I ordered it in town, it would have been just under $300. That should only be a $30 part in my mind.
